Established in 2001, we are the UK's longest running centre of doctoral training in photonics.  Our CDT comprises 100 academic research groups in five universities, working with more than 35 companies to apply photonics to deliver solutions to critical scientific and engineering problems.

Each of our collaborations is built around an EngD or PhD student, providing them with masters-level technical and business qualifications, along with an industrially-connected doctoral research project.
