The 5-year vision for the Centre's outreach is to have stimulated the development of a vibrant and coherent UK Lasers in Manufacturing industry and academic community with strong cross-boundary representation, forward-looking programmes and the resource base to support its knowledge generation, promotion, exploitation activities and commercial growth.

Professor Denis Hall

• Denis is the Centre's outreach Co-ordinator.  His recent research concentrated on high power planar solid state lasers, high power diode laser optics and laser fabrication of micro-optics. This work, part of a general industrial orientation involving partnership in many industry/university collaborative research projects, has produced a series of commercial laser products and industrial laser-based systems. He has co-founded three successful start-up companies producing lasers and photonic systems.

Emma Williams

• Emma Williams is the Centre’s Industrial Outreach Officer. She brings a wealth of experience from both the private and charity sectors as well as from Higher Education.

  Her areas of expertise include excellent written and verbal communication, project management throughout the project lifecycle, the ability to build effective and productive working relationships, strong organisation and event coordination skills and the ability to translate information into being easily accessible by all.
